  Biography

Christian graduated with a degree in physics and religion from the University of Saarbrücken (Germany) in 2012. He finished his undergraduate studies with a thesis “Quantum dynamics of atoms and microwave photons” in the field of theoretical quantum physics under the supervision of Prof. Giovanna Morigi. Afterwards he stayed for half a year as a scientific coworker in her group where he was working within a project related to quantum reservoir engineering. In March 2013 he started with a "Doctoral  Career Development Scholarship" (DCDS) from Aberystwyth University a PhD in the Quantum Structures, Information and Control group under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Burgarth. His research is mainly focused on the analyzation and the control of open quantum systems using methods from control theory.
